I had always been proud of being a chinese, although i am a singaporean. Never understand why some of my fellow chinese singaporean hates being a chinese. China people are either stupid, or super poor or super rich (rich but has bad taste).
Take for example mr yap mengrong. He hates china people. anything chinnah he dun like. Like my hair cut. he say it look like China dolls.
I like chinese traditional culture. I like the patterns, the music. Esp chinese new year music. i totally HEART it man. I am amaze by how they learn the art skills of drawing in the inner surface of little bottles, how they do precise paper cuttings.
But most younger generations of chinese singaporeans just appreciate the culture. They like western culture, punk, rock, hip hop. Sometimes i hear my fellow friends talk about this issue, i feel embarrassed for them. But its their own personal opinion lah. Like it or not, we all origin from China. My grandpa is from Fujian. Everyone is of the same blood. An APE. so whats the discrimation about this and that.
Halfway through watching the Olympic 2008 opening ceremony, my eyes turn watery. So proud of them. And then MR start making comments like, “wah, you see. So many China people. You kill one of them here, it also wont make a difference.”
I cant educate him on this kind of things. I think i have a stupid boyfriend.
He even mention that Sichun earthquake is all the china people evil doing retribution. They deserve to die. blahblahblah. the mention of this makes my blood boil. Either he is like that one, or he eventually will grow mature in his thinking.
The kids at Sichun doesnt deserve to die. Nobody deserves to die. China people is like you and me.
White superiority is already bad enough.
But now even people of the same skin color are discriminating each other.
whats that called? Singaporean superiority.
We look up to the whites, look in awe at the blacks, idolize south koreans, laugh at malaysian, look down on china and bangladesh workers. We are then the stupid one. Americans who laugh at China people are also the stupid one. Whos economy is going up, and whos economy is going down.
China is going to have the last laugh man.
